ICON Flashlights

Didn't we just make a big deal about shipping to Alaska? And now we're selling ICON Flashlights? Doesn't that seem counterproductive? You know, since it's day there all the time up there? Oh, you don't say - it's also night for days on end? OH MAN! THE MONEY'S GONNA ROLL IN!

I love flashlights because they're like recyclable bags - you always want one on hand. I know some of you are the same, so it doesn't seem weird now.

How many flashlights do you have?

I'm just hanging out, really.

You can never have too many flash lights, too much ammo, or too many condoms!

Why am I such a sucker for a freaking LED flashlight. I guess I'm adding a few more today to my colliction of what, a couple dozen already?

Thanks WOOT!, thanks for making my wife think I'm crazy!

Any hope of the 3-Watt Cree LED Aluminum Flashlight coming back? These are great flashlights and the heft on them makes it great in case you need it for protection.

Purchased the ICON Irix I headlamp from Woot last time it was offered. The product is made of plastic but has a high-quality feel to it, especially the dial that lets you ramp up the brightness. You can tell that a lot of thought went into the design. The only drawback I found in my testing was that the actual flashlight unit detaches from its clip a little too easily -- in normal use I don't think it would fall off, but almost every time I used it I found myself reaching for the lamp to take it off and instead just disconnecting it from its clip. Nothing I can't get used to.

will the rogue sear my hand when I use it? it says it uses its body to dissipate heat. Good thing it is waterproof, I can use it by putting it in a glass bottle filled with water and carry the bottle around.

Don't laugh, the past power outage we had Dh dropped one of our nicer flashlights into the toilet while attending to business & it was NOT waterproof. Maybe I am in for one once you brought the "waterproof" to my attention - I also have two sons so it may not be the last flashlight in the toilet. I set to pee, so I don't need to aim.

Bought two of the rogue2 ones the last time they were on woot. I love them to death. I'm gonna get a few more.

I own two of different styles. On one, the switch started acting a little bit funky a few months into using it on occasion becoming intermittent in function, other than that, no other complaints.

Icon Rogue 2 (black) New starts at $19.97 using "buy it now" on Ebay.

I bought three when they were on woot recently and have already used them a few times. I really like them.

I picked up one for each car and one for the house. They're great flashlights!

I bought 3 last time they were up and like them a lot. I used one today while fixing a sump pump and the waterproof part came in handy.

I have to say that I was surprised at how warm the aluminum felt after 15-20 minutes of continuous use, but fortunately no where near "searing". It did seem like the light output dropped slightly as the heat increased, but returned to normal after a cool down period. It wasn't enough of a dip to affect function.

Can anyone speak to the lumen output on the Rogue 2?

The current offer lists the Hi/Lo lumens as 100/10. The flashlights I received from Woot! a couple of weeks ago are also Rogue 2's, but the packaging states 130/7 for the lumens.

Which is correct? If Woot! is right, maybe that's why these are being dumped. If the package is right, Woot! should correct the copy.

quality posts: 0 Private Messages bcm00re

These are being dumped because Surefire pulled the plug on their Icon line of flashlights. Notice these only have a 90 day warranty (instead of the 1 year the package says).

BTW, my Rouge 2 from the previous Woot was also the never version that is rated 130/7 (or so the package says).

A really nice and detailed review here:

Seems to be a good one to have around the house.

Would be nice to have picture of each one in someones hand, to get an idea of the size.
Nothing a quick Google image search can't solve, though.

I agree, I looked at the specs for sizes, I got 2 rogue 1's for my kids because they were around 2 inches smaller and had the string attached. Good deal.

I got the gray Rogue 2 last time Woot had them up and really like how bright the flashlight is. For the past few years, I've been making do with a tiny keychain flashlight when needing to search under the couch, but with this flashlight, it's as bright as day under there. I picked up a Rogue 1 for a handier size to keep as a spare (maybe in the car)

I am going to try running the rogue 2 I have purchased here on one 14500 li-ion 3.7v AA size rechargeable battery and one dummy battery since it is voltage regulated. Any suggestions?

If you notice the light output dropping off just click the switch on then off and the light will go back to full brightness. I've been doing that with my two rogue 2's for a couple years with no adverse effects. These things are made to run fairly hot.

I also picked up a modus one, which is pretty nice, as well as a modus two. The modus two has a crack in the threading on the body where the head screws on. Is there a way to get a non-broken one?

Just received my Rogue 1 today.
It's an impressive flashlight for just $10.
Seems very high quality - time will tell.

It is bigger and heavier than I expected for a single AA battery.

Obviously the Rogue 2 I bought but haven't received yet will be bigger and heavier than expected too.

Should be a good replacement for my 3 x D Cell Maglite.

Recieved my 2 rogue 2's and went camping the same day. This light is a really great all around light. The beam has a good spread but at 130 lumens the hot spot while not as concentrated as some other lights has more than enough intensity to throw a good distance.

The reflector is top notch producing a smooth beam with no artifacts.

While camping it rained a lot. Light was water tight as advertised and the high feature was great considering how dark it gets in the woods at night. Low mode was perfect for in the tent where you really don't need much light at all.

Basically at the $13 price point you got a light that was designed to be used, not designed to be compared to the light next to it in someones collection. I have other lights such as the 2 AA streamlight jr. and this light is a much better light for all around use. Many other lights focus to much on the hotspot to be good for anything other than seeing how far away you can light up a tree.

I ordered 2 Rogue 1's and a Rogue 2 on Saturday. Monday I got the Rogue 2 and no sign of the R1's. Tracking number on the 2nd shipment not working on USPS. Anyone else out there that can't track their order?

The order is in transit. Try using your tracking number on the FedEx website instead - since this was shipped SmartPost. It worked for me. Looks like it has an estimated delivery date of 8/14.
