-peyton threw a couple of passes without breaking in half or keeling over! they were pretty good throws, even!

-david akers kicked a lot!

-jim harbaugh yelled at people!

-san francisco won (29-24), but nobody will mention or remember that, because they're all so giddy about peyton not being a big unmoving brick out on the field!

there's a lot of speculation about whether the blown call (series of blown calls) will hustle negotiations to get the "real" officials back. i doubt that'll happen until advertisers make noise. and for that to occur, viewership has to be threatened. as it is, the thing to impact viewership won't be fans taking a stand or whatever - it'll be the fact that 1 game lasts 27 hours.

possibly...possibly there could be complaints on behalf of players' safety advocates. the scab officials aren't making crucial defense calls & the games are consequently riskier - more violent, even. maybe that is a difficult thing to quantify or prove.

somebody somewhere said they were excited to see a seahawks victory, but i don't really think you could claim that. it was a win for the seahawks. not a victory.
