The shirt looks like a pair of arms giving a friendly hug from behind...

Silly question, perhaps, but will these float? Would someone wearing them have an easier time treading water?

From the thumbnail at the bottom of the screen (when I was on shirt.woot), I though this was the brace that I may spend the next year wearing. I was intrigued by the idea of a cheap refurb - or three, just in case the first two get stinky after 365 days.

I wonder how these would work for mountain biking?

It's actually a Ninja hugging another Ninja from behind.

(You know they don't show up in photos, right?)

I wonder how well this would work under a ballistic vest? The compression aspect is nice, and my understanding is vest or no vest, getting shot sucks, much like getting hit with a sledgehammer.

Shame the 4 pad isn't available in mens large

Does anyone know if the shoulder one or rib one would be better for basketball?

Only if you're hoping and praying that their aim is spot on where the protection is.

I've been looking for a nice protective compression/protective shirt for the upcoming ski season. If only this has upper body padding it would be awesome considering I tend beat up my uper body more on the rare occasions I do bite the dust hard in the park.

Edit: it'd help to check out the descriptions before I comment. In for one on the upper body one!

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

Well, which do you worry about more: lowering the shoulder into an opponent/having someone come down on your shoulder, or getting elbowed in the ribs? Personally I'd worry more about my ribs in basketball.

Look at how cheap they are compared to. MSRP. I was afraid they would all out fast. Thoughts on this for adult Rugby, would it be legal in an adult league beneath the uniform?

don't know, but it will stiffen up when a shark bite into you, maybe allowing you to survive an extra 1/2 sec.

Hmmmm...been looking for hip protection before trying out a skateboard. Cheap enough for a start to my get on a deck kit.

These are so inexpensive and bizarre that I'll definitely give them a try. Even if they don't fit or look ugly, I'm sure that I can find some use for the pads after cutting them out. Should make some interesting shoe pads.

My question is why the briefs don't protect the most vulnerable part of the male anatomy: the front? Yet it sees fit to protect the b*tt crack.

I was wondering if I can buy a bunch of them and sew them into other clothes. Need these paddings in other areas like groin, face and head.

BTW, are these cut resistant? e.g. from broken dishes, vases, etc. And can they handle the impact from things like frying pan?

I can't help but wonder what in the world you plan to use these for, but then again, maybe I don't want to know.

Thinking like I am thinking. At this price, worth it to buy one and see what it can stand up to when I'm drunk

I think the shorts will be beneficial in my indoor soccer goalkeeping adventures. I have thin McDavid that should fit nicely in the thigh pockets for added protection. 2 shorts and some knee pads and I'm still coming out way ahead compared to the Nike Pro Combat shorts.

Do the pants have a pocket to support a cup? This would be perfect for indoor soccer and floor hockey if so.

I hope the above video is true. That's what convinced me of buying the 4 piece top and the shorts.

Plus, Thank you jumbowoot for the coupon!

annnnnd I just noticed that I'm first sucker.

that was fun while it lasted!

Buying the "girdle", but I think I'll just call them shorts...

I'm hoping this will protect my tailbone while skiing/snowboarding.

Hello, beautiful.

According to this site, it DOES have a pocket for a cup:

I was hoping that I didn't have to retrofit my future cup into it some how.

It's intended to be worn with a hard cup as needed. Even a 15% give is not acceptable when it comes to the jewels :P

Any idea what the textile material is? (cotton, spandex, etc.)
The girdle seems like it'd come in handy for snow/ice biking, especially since most of my spills leave me with purple hips. But cotton isn't very breathable and I think that's more important than insulation for biking, even in the winter.

I bet these would be good under hockey pads as well.

Thank you Woot! We've been watching these in our local Hibbets for over a year waiting on the price to drop ($75-80 range). We got the girdles for $10 the other day there, but the shirts wouldn't drop at all. Now, my children have the shirts to complete their outfit.

They are 9 and 11 and play tackle football. Any extra protection to avoid injuries is awesome - even more awesome when you find a sweet deal like this! So, thanks, for helping keep my children a bit safer.

Man, I was ready to snag these until I noticed the sizing. Men's stuff is just a little too compressing in certain places, and not enough in others. A little disappointed that Woot (or, I guess, the manufacturer) apparently doesn't think women are active.

My boys have the Under Armour version of the girdle, and it's made of 87% Nylon and 17% Elastane.

These protective shirts are perfect for playing ice hockey. I switched to these shirts from the bulky shoulder pads and I love the difference.

I'm not a technology expert... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last nite.
