Outdoor Gear

Have you not been camping yet this summer? What the heck are you waiting for?! It's only gonna get colder, y'know. At least in the summer you can go swimming. Unless you're in Seattle. Up here, "summer camping weather" is cloudy and 66 degrees.

Camping's awesome, and I'm not just saying that to make conversation. I don't have time to go camping this summer, but we'd love to hear about your trips (and if you're taking any of this gear along).

I'm just hanging out, really.

Well the YakTrax are already sold out - but I know why! They are excellent, I have loved mine. I use them for walking up a very steep sidewalk that always has a layer of packed snow/ice because it never gets shoveled and so many people travel on it. Haven't slipped once.

Not so good for walking on paved surfaces though, it smashes the coils, and wears them out

Just came back from a weekend cabin-camping trip (primitive cabin, no water or electricity, but amazing mountain views!!!) and headed out for a backpacking camping trip tomorrow in the GWNF.

The only gear from woot is one of my knives and a couple of the small gps cases that I re-purposed into fishing and toiletry kits. Can't carry a 14 pound tent or a sleeping bag only rated to 40 up a rocky mountain trail that is at a 45 degree angle! :-)

"Camping's sort of like pretending your life has gone horribly wrong, but only for a weekend." I guess when you're silver spoon hipster and motel 8 was considered roughing it, I can't expect any less..

You must be new here. Oh wait, member since 2009? Guess you just don't have a sense of humor.

...is what? A colonoscopy?
