I have an extreme dislike for "professional wrestling." I attempted to watch it with friends some years ago. That it is scripted is off putting. That the plots, characters and dialogue are so insipid is insulting to my intelligence. In my opinion it is a badly staged soap opera.

I prefer watching open courseware lectures from Harvard University on iTunes U.

Currently watching an Introduction to Computer Science. I'm enjoying Scratch.

Next will be an Introduction to Intellectual Property from Columbia University. Should prove to be most enlightening.

"Professional wrestling" is not a sport. It's a soap opera.

I usually watch from inside the ring. Yeah, it's a little like soap opera, except we do our own stunts.

BTW if you get away from the WWE-TNA circus, you get a lot less of the soapy aspects. Take a look at Ring of Honor, or if you're lucky enough to have an independent company nearby, gamble ten bucks and check out a live show.

I don't like wrestling, but I'll admit that the movie 'The Wrestler' is awesome!

They are asking about pro wrestling, not MMA.

Typically, I am not the type who cares what others find entertaining. What you enjoy doing with your leisure time is your business. As long as what you do doesn't impact others, you should be able to do what you want for entertainment. If you want to watch wrestling, knock yourself out, just don't expect me to join you. That being said, after seeing the low numbers here, my opinion of the human race has actually risen a few points today.

we are here in afghanistan and we only get about 3 channels on the armed forces network (AFN) and for some reason they always have wrestling on, i guess lots of soldiers like it. I just go and stare at a wall or look at the sun, its much more productive.

Not afraid to admit that yes, I do watch, and yes I do go to the events.

I still enjoy watching it on TV from time to time. I was really into wrestling during the "Monday Night Wars" and "Attitude Era". The story lines were fresher, more risque. Now the story lines are dull in comparison.

and you can bash it for being scritped, it's still real to me, dammit!

Yeah, I like watching pro wrestling. So what it's scripted? It's much more entertaining than "Real Housewives", "Jersey Shore", or all the talent show/dating reality shows that have sprung up everywhere...

Agree!!!

Wrestling is not my favorite.

One of the reasons for that is that the wrestling promotions provide their shows free to AFN, and also they do a lot of work doing live events for military personnel overseas and at home, as well as veterans and active duty service people in hospitals. The industry as a whole is very supportive of our service people.
