Well, how do you fare compared to the Zeitgeist? Chat up your fellow wooters and let us know how lame this poll was or what obvious choices we missed. For example: Was this poll a) STUPID, b) DUMB, c) POINTLESS or d) ALL OF THE ABOVE?

Umm, about 23 years ago. So not in this century! Where was *that* choice in the poll??

Ya know, I think I've managed to escape the emergency room for the past 7 years *knock on wood*. There were a few emergency trips to the doctor, and I stopped even going in for broken fingers or toes.

Cut myself while moving.
Everyone else stayed and moved the heavy stuff.
They think I planned it that way.

July 2009, and that trip ended in mid August of 2009.

May 2004...from an auto accident. No, it wasn't my fault. Someone broadsided me. Daily physical therapy from May til November, ugh! Ended up and had to give up my tennis and golf. Life has never been the same.

How's the recovery going? I had an aortic valve replacement last fall and I'm still only about 90%. It didn't help that they broke four ribs when they opened my sternum.

I'm glad to hear you're doing okay! I had my Mitral Valve repaired towards the end of March. By the end of April, I was back up to 100%! Maybe even better than I was before surgery.

Keep in mind that I am only 20 years old, so that helps the whole healing process quite a bit. I was out of the ICU after 2 days rather than the 5 that they had planned on.

I hope you continue to feel better as the healing progresses, and eventually can be back to your old (young) self.

Myself? Probably never. My husband? A couple of weeks ago. My daughter? A few months ago.

For myself, a few months ago when a piece of glass went through a finger. Yes, I was injured while making cupcakes.

For one of my children? A little over a year ago for a broken arm.

Before those two things? Years and years, thankfully. And, knock on wood, we won't be back again for years.

New Years eve about 6 or 7 years ago. What an experience! The cops came in with about 6 or 7 guys that had been fighting (& were drunk). They were bleeding like crazy!

10 quality post! Whoo hoo! I'M SOMEBODY!!!

5 or 6 years ago when I crushed the end of my index finger in a roll mill. (The orthopedic surgeon did a great job stitching it back together.)

This question definitely needed more options....
For myself, over 18 years ago. For a family member, about 1 year ago. But now I volunteer with EMS soooo...at least once a week!
