Could you keep these in the back of your car as makeshift road flares? I have no idea how bright these are but nascar makes me think road flares.

I think I'm going to buy these. Just because I'm a NASCAR fan.. I have no idea what glow sticks have to do with auto racing through lol

I think that I would be concerned about how long they would last in storage. The product description says: "Storage life of 2 years in packaging". Add that to the fact that you don't know how long they have been laying around before Woot got ahold of them. I think that I would maybe buy them if I were going to use them pretty quickly. Like maybe a long spelunking trip taken in a couple of weekends after they are delivered....

Figured $4+FS for 12 sticks is pretty good, even though I have no idea what I'll do with 12 glow sticks. In traditional wooter fashion I clicked buy first, and I'll come up with a use tomorrow morning.

No they're not. These are weird for sport. And for a 12 pack. Which I guess would be good for a kids party but I'm not sure I'd give them to kids. As far as I can tell they're run of the mill glow sticks in Nascar packaging so...

If you're going to get glow sticks, you get them for a party, in lots of colours, you get the weird ones, you don't do anything stupid with them and you find a way to trash them safely or you're left with a bunch of toxic non-glowing crap on your hands.

Personally I thought the omission of a comma in "come on, woot!" gave the phrase a rather humorous, albeit unfortunate, turn.

Anyone that has done some time in the Army has a great chem light story, so I will share mine.
We were in an Arab country, non wartime, in a little village/town that had no running electricity and their refrigeration was done by buying blocks of ice from a truck that would come through twice a day. The woman would get the ice and carry these big blocks on their heads, it was crazy looking.... anyway, so we're walking around this town and one of the men starts making the universal sign for chem lights, 2 fists together and making a breaking motion, I nodded yes I do have some and then he offers me some figs in exchange. I said I don't think so pal. So he goes into his shop and comes back out with some bootleg movies. Now we're talking. (don't ask me why a guy with no power had bootleg movies) So me and some battle buddies ended up trading like 30 chem lights for a rucksack full of bootlegs that were still playing in the theaters. Score! Later that night, the shopkeeper had about 10 chem lights hanging from his canopy, and people were gathered around his shop enjoying the light, eating goat and smoking the hooka. It was cool, win win for everyone. Over the next few months we found many things to barter with each other. Moral of the story, buy these and trade for something. And if you ever go to an outdoor concert, you can get chicks to do some crazy stuff for the blue ones. Inshallah

Chemsticks are great. Breaking open the non-toxic chemsticks and using their contents on sporting equipment for glow in the dark sports is super mega fun.

I love covering a tennis ball with the non-toxic chemical and playing a rousing game of "let's leave the lights off doubles tennis" at night on the city's courts.

Also, golf takes on a whole new meaning when you break onto a golf course and play some glow in the dark golf (plus there is the added benefit of making all the rich snobby folks at my local country club believe they saw a UFO zipping through the night sky...)

And lastly, kids LOVE when you use the non-toxic chemical mixed with a bottle of bubbles. Instead of it being a daytime only thing, now they can blow glow in the dark bubbles. Now who is the coolest parent on the block? That's right... This guy...

We use them at our house for "glow stick bath night"... good for bribing your 4 year old into the tub. Oh, yeah, and save some for power going out and stuff. But mostly used for bath night.

Epic fail on calling out a spelling error and then writing "Your" instead of "You're".

They're not bright enough to serve that purpose.

In for 3 to give out to kids at our evening neighborhood picnic. Have to try that bubble trick!

I use glowsticks anytime going to dark crowded place with kids... or when kids are going round in dark at night.

makes it easier to keep an eye on them and makes them visible to cars...

... and the kids think they're getting a treat.

We did something similar and gave out glow bracelets last year. They were a big hit, and my son had fun with the leftovers. I'm trying to decide if I want to go for these or go the bracelet route again this year.

In for 3! These are a hit at Halloween and they will be great for the Glow Run 5K in a few months.

Ummmm, no. They are NON-TOXIC.
Same kinda stuff as happens inside fireflies, and they seem to live ok with the stuff inside them.

More glowstick ideas, if you need some.
