I found out how to set the camera's time and date, but haven't tried to shut it off (I want it on).
There is a file named "time.txt" on the root of the Drivers CD that you have to copy to the root of the camera. You have to make sure it's in the camera's root folder, not the DCIM. Once there, edit it (in NotePad, or whatever text editor), maintaining the original format:
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
Eject the camera, make sure the camera's power is off and then turn the camera's power on. As the camera restarts, it will load the time.txt file and reset the clock and date. After the camera reads the time.txt file, it will delete it from the camera so it won't keep loading the same time and date every time it turns on.
To turn it off, you may be able to try a blank time.txt file. I'm not going to try that on my camera, since I want the time/date stamp on. I wouldn't want to be successful in turning it off, only to fail in trying to turn it back on.
