I recently purchased the titleist reconditioned balls and they were pretty bad. guess you can't expect much when they don't cost much.

Bought 3... At the rate I lose balls, this is a smokin' deal...

(And some of these are likely mine, since I was a big fan of the Nike Mojos)

For the next two hours Divot has 2 dozen new nike balls for the price of these refurbs. Judging by past reviews of refurbed balls might be a better option.

Grade A? Does this mean we have to crack one open to be sure it's good?

(ducks for cover in the sand trap)

edit: ok, 1 before work restarts
froogle for $9-11 for 1.5 dozen (vs. $12.99 for 3 dozen tonight)

Mojo's are a nice ball, although you can get them at target for the same price and don't have to worry about waiting for them to arrive in the mail

I think this is under the wrong section of woot! Golf isn't a sport so golf balls don't belong here unless golf balls are being used in a sport I am unaware of.

I asked the buyer about this exact thing. Here's his answer:

Note: These Nike's are Grade A and have a much more durable DuPont's Surlyn cover. The Pro V1 balls were grade B/C and have a delicate Urethane Elastomer cover which provides a soft feel but wears easily.

It sounds like these will be a better quality ball in general.

Which Divot store are you talking about? I can't seem to find it on my personal Google machine.

Is there any indication which Nike balls these are? From the image/specs I would assume it's just random... which probably means it's the cheap ones that you can buy from http://www.lostgolfballs.com/Nike-s/57.htm for about $4-6 a dozen. It's probably a fine deal for a newbie, but I like to know what I'm hitting and cheap golf balls just aren't that hard to come by.

There are typically 4 grades of reconditioned balls. AA is like buying them brand new. A (which these are) is almost perfect but could have a slight color issue but basically new. B is small scuff marks and discoloration. C are Basket of Crayfish quality balls.

I normally play recycled Nike balls and buy them from target for $12.99 for a 24 pack of B balls so this is a good deal.

Purchased 2 sets of the Adams golf clubs a few days ago. Does anyone know if the set comes with a putter. From the photo and description they don't appear to. I see there is a sub-sports woot offering putters and will purchase if needed.

The ProV1 is top of the line and should probably not be played by any golfer with a handicap over 10. They have a softer cover because it is intended for golfers who never mis-hit a shot (providing much better feel and control for good golfers). The first time you catch it a little thin, you will cut it. The Nike ball is nice, but you can't compare the two. Weekend warriors and beginners should steer clear of ProV1's. Even though these Nike's are re-furbed, it is a nice deal for the novice or occasional golfer. They are not intended to be used in any kind of competition setting.

Decent quality golf club sets never come with a putter, so looks like you'll need to get one of those too.

Ive only seen this scale...where do these balls fit in:

AAAAA/1st Quality
Excellent Condition - The appearance and feel of this golf ball is similar to a new golf ball. This golf ball will show no or very little wear and will retain the original color and luster. These golf balls will include small player markings, team and corporate logos.

AAAA/2nd Quality
Very Good Condition - The condition of this golf ball will be similar to a golf ball that has been played for a few holes. There may be a slight cosmetic blemishes and discoloration and in some of the dimples. There may be a slight difference in luster and color. The integrity and flight characteristic is not compromised. These golf balls will include player markings, team and corporate logos.

AAA/3rd Quality
Good Condition - These used golf balls may have slight scuffs and blemishes. There may be minor discoloration and some of the print may smudge. Higher grade x-outs and practice models may be included. No cuts are included. These golf balls will include player markings, team and corporate logos.

AA/4th Quality
Poor Condition – The AA grade used golf ball may look worn, discolored, blemished and most will have scuffs. These golf balls can be used by beginners, first timers or work great as practice balls. These golf balls will include player markings, team and corporate logs.

I bought 2 dozen of the PRO V1 last time they were on Woot and they were absolute garbage. Most of them were severely scuffed and out of 24 balls 3 of them were considered playable.

I agree with rtclark40... I bought mine a couple months ago and hit most of them straight into the driving range... not good.

These balls are not refurbished, they are only washed and sorted, and are completely legal for all tournament play.

Everbody keeps talking about refurbed balls. These are "recycled," which according to the description (and Google) just means cleaned and put back out there to be used again. I think I'll try some of these. Should be good for hitting and letting the kids go collect them later.

Same here. I bought a dozen Pro V1 balls last time and 10/12 were cracked/scuffed and unplayable even for a high handicapper. If I were to find balls on the course in the condition of the Pro V1s I would toss them in the woods.

Buy at your own risk.

You shouldn't compare these to the Titleist Pro V1s that were on Sellout.Woot back in February. Those were "refinished." This is the "stripping, blasting, or repainting process" that the description for these Nike balls talk about. These are cleaned, and that is it. A better comparison would be to the Nike balls that were on Sellout last September.

I bought both, and I am very happy with Nike balls and underwhelmed with the Pro V1s. The Nike balls look shiny and new. If it wasn't for players marks and logos on few of the balls, I wouldn't be able to tell them from new. The Pro V1s have a dull finish with quite a few imperfections.

The bottom line is: Don't shy away from these because the Titleist balls sucked. These are completely different.

When is Woot Sport! going to have disc golf merchandise? I'm thinking packs of discs, baskets, bags, towels, etc... Just sayin.

i would say no most iron sets do not come with a putter. it is hard to buy a putter on line unless you go to a sporting goods store and try them out then buy them on line.

I got those ProV1's as well, and they were garbage. I have seen these for sell in the store before and know the quality will be much better on these Nike's. Plus, you can't beat 36 balls for $13.

I wouldn't buy a putter without trying it out in-store first. Of course, I wouldn't buy a set of clubs without trying them either...

Woot has a special running now on Adams' putters. I just bought one to compliment my Adams' clubs. My clubs did not come with a putter. $39 is a steal for the A7 putter.

You just get the irons and Pitching wedge. The Adams putters on sale here are decent. I have had my A7 a few years and just ordered a new one to keep in case I need to get a new one.

I am comparing these to the recycled PRO V1's that I bought on May 1, 2012. Although recycled Golf Balls have never been subjected to a stripping, blasting, or repainting process, these golf balls were subjected to a cheese grater. Even if they were free they weren't worth the $5.00 shipping.

For my fellow Texans out there... in case you were wondering, here is the official response from service@woot.com.

"Sorry for the mis-understanding, but the coupon can only be used on orders where the sub-total (before shipping and tax) is over $40."

This is contrary to the "rules" I found on old woot threads discussing the tax coupon. Still pulled the trigger on this deal. Can't beat this price... and with my awful slice, I'm going to need these, haha.

$0.50 per ball shipped, that's a steal. I'm going with just 1-36 pack, really hope that's enough balls to last me a few years.

A different golf site has 3 dozen grade B for $5 more. This is a great deal.

At least you've received yours. I've watched the tracking info bounce around all over the place. Last Wednesday it said the estimated delivery date was Thursday the 28th and that the package was already in my town. On Thursday, the estimated delivery date disappeared and said it was now in Houston.

I called FedEx on thursday and they said the package had already been given to the post office to be delivered and that it should be delivered within 5 days. Friday, checked the tracking again and it said it was back in my town. Checked again today, and it says that it just left Houston.

It's not looking like I'll be using these balls anytime soon.

*shakes fist in frustration*

Sounds like FedEx is playing ping pong with your golf balls. If you don't see them in another day or two, drop service@woot.com an email to see what they can do.

Being that it was shipped on 6/22 I figure that I need to give it till at least Friday for it to be the full 8 business days before contacting Woot.
