The travails of being a large person: no size 15, of course.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Here's a 'cutesy' video about the women's shoes: http://youtu.be/zK4elBdAA4Y

retail for $90, so not a bad price at all, they also seem to run true to size. Whatever that means these days.

so apparently only women are allowed to wear red shoes nowadays. That's pretty sexist woot. I'll skip on todays woot and stay with my red converse hi-tops thank you very much.

These shoes look great! Are they 100% vegetarian?

Oh, also. Does anyone actually have anything to say about these sneakers. I just ordered a bunch of woots, so if these are worthwhile, I may order just to take advantage of my $5 all-you-can-ship..

Good reviews over at Zappos

In for some fancy new red shoes to wear when I go to the river with the puppies!

yeah, I too am disappointed that the red that the red shoes are girls only, shocking, unbelivable... different even

I'm kind of thinking about the grey's as new gym shoes though

well according to the reviews, the Churn is made wide which is what I need. So I will make an exception to my "only buy shoes after trying on" rule and take a shot.

Woot, please be nice if they don't fit and accept a return!

I'm impressed that everyone so far is discussing the shoes and not the fact that sport! woot exists. Or am I late to the party?

I prefer the men's style and color, maybe they should swap them around for tomorrow

If you're late, then so am I. Just spent the last minute reading the comments and wondering how long I'd been oblivious to sport.woot. Whew.

SO disappointed that the red shoe is only for women. The men's shoe looks like any other generic sport hiker footwear out there. Hmm.. what's the women's equivalent of a men's 10.5? Anyone???

haha I was just thinking how I would have liked a more neutral all-compatible color... like gray.

but I do like the sound of these shoes. and I was just saying how nice some new ones would be...

Monday was the Sport debut. Here's a link to the product blog for that day that introduced the site.

In my younger days I bought men's shoes of a certain brand. I always went down two sizes in men's. So you might go 2 sizes up?

Ye ol' Google might have something more scientific though.

Now "The Angels Want to Wear My Red Shoes" is stuck in my head. Which means probably in for one by the end of the day!

Any word on arch support on the ladies' shoe?

The video link (in the woot product info) for the red women's shoes does not appear to be loading. The Churn's link works fine, but the women's is just giving a blank pop-up.

Does everyone else see that as well?

Trending Now: Evil Genius thwarted in latest (and most bizarre) plans for global conquest, returns to lab shouting "One size fits all...except ME!"
Enabled to expound, sport.woot received this comment:
"I'm surprised to see how many of you are concerned about the width, as I initially pondered that (for the nth time)...until I saw the largest size in the drop-down box(14). Few can relate to the triple-threat issue of 1)ZERO arch 2)EEE width AND 3)"Sorry, we don't carry anything that big" size/foot length...
I hear that in nearly every store, including many outlets. "The Nordstrom Rack" is one of few places I can get the pair(or 2-never more than 3) that fits, hopefully without having to "learn to like them" . FYI their ONE "size 15+" rack has taught me size standards only apply if your foot fits on/in the size guide-after that, simply try it on if it might be wide enough and check brand/size when it fits-Nike's seem to be my largest (@ size 18), my DC's are 17, and my (currently)smallest shoes are Kenneth Cole's "Reaction" line @ 15. My feet are only 1 size, they don't magically fluctuate 3+ sizes at whim, and I'm not attending clown college or hiding my valuables in there. It's absurd and highly frustrating to be unable to get shoes @ Foot Locker, Sport's Authority, Payless and nearly every so-called "shoe store", and I live in Phoenix(5th largest city in the USA)!! I'd gladly shop online were it not for the size inconsistencies I've owned spanning most brands(some high-end{aka $$$} brands/mfrs excluded...I can't afford $100-$500 every time I need a pair of shoes though!). So count yourself lucky these might fit you, cuz I can't even bother trying. Apparently I should just renounce shoes and(been hearing this since I wore size 7 in 1st grade) "return to the other Sasquatch/Yetis"...trust me, if that's where I came from I wouldn't have this problem; I'd be set for life from endorsement deals and be doing guest appearances in movies with my friend Nessie and pet Unicorn.

Do they come with some type of durability guarantee? How long will it take for salt water to make them self-destruct?

My husband got the Churn ($87 at DSW) for a Grand Canyon rafting trip in May. They were great on the raft and on all the hikes too. He felt it was money well spent even at that price so the Woot price is fantastic!

I'm a bit hesitant. I have another pair of hiking shoes from Teva that are a size 11 and fit perfectly. Teva's measurement system says I should be wearing a size 9... although I doubt I'd be wearing socks with these shoes, but I can't see socks making a difference of 2 sizes...

Any other thoughts? I typically wear (depending on the brand) anywhere from 10-11.

A word of caution-- I lost my love-affair with Teva after a pair of water shoes of theirs (very much like the ones here) managed to both fail on a 3 hour rocky creek walk.

The rubberized bottoms of both separated and flopped from the shoe. Both shoes, same trip, same day-- I had never seen that, especially in what looked like a hardy shoe, and was labeled as a multipurpose land & water shoe (if you're wondering).

So please be wary of this discounted shoe-- perhaps best for kayaking or standing in water, but Teva will never again be trusted by me for walking on creek beds or rocky shores.

All of my Tevas have been indestructible, at least by natural causes (small animals are another story).

Ditto!

I'm surprised to see woot selling shoes with no amendments to the return policy.

There are three stores in my area that sell Tevas, I'm going to try to get out this afternoon and try these on.
