I am a newbie (left-handed), and there is only one option available (Steel Stiff/3-4H, 5-PW Irons). Is that a good option for a beginner? I do swing pretty hard, but don't have much control.

Also, what other clubs would I need to buy for a complete set?

Stiff is not a good choice for most beginners.

To complete a set, you'd definitely need a putter (and a bag). A driver would be next in line, though as a beginner, you won't need one at first.

Well... I don't know whats going on, I tried to buy the set and got a "Withheld" notice... it doesn't say anything about being sold out on the website, but apparently they are or something... problem is.. there is no way to call them and ask if my order went through or what... I email them but by the time the get back to me it may be too late...

Just placed my order. Out of curiosity, I compared the lofts with my old Tommy Armour 845s. The typical club in this set has 3 degrees less loft that the comparable club in the old set. That's a full club difference. So with the new set I'll be hitting an 8 where I used to go to a 7. Doesn't mean I'm hitting it any longer. I'm a little concerned with the void between sand wedge and pitching wedge. Even my old Tommy Armour gap wedge may not cover what I need. In any event, the price is amazing and I'm looking forward to trying them out.

Anyone know when these came out? All the reviews I have read say that it is may/april. Is that 2012? or older?

/edit ok, actually there is. the last config comes with 4,5 hybrid, and 6-SW, meaning you get the PW and SW.

I had this same problem, for some reason they que now so just encase some peoples orders get declined they can still sell you something. This was a huge problem for me, I accidentally ordered 3 sets because I was trying to change options to get something in stock. This was a bigger problem because I could of got the clubs I wanted, they are still not sold out, but I since I had 3 on order.(2 of those being the sold out ones) I couldn't place the order for what I really wanted that was in stock. I contacted customer service, but they don't have the power to fix it. sold out should be sold out.

yes.. this is a stellar set that was selling for $299+ on fleabay very recently.. I believe it was a golf digest gold rated set last year??? Too lazy to confirm.

I ordered a regular shaft R handed and it seems like it is out of stock. would really like a good set of clubs, and this seems like a good opportunity.

Being a beginner, should i settle for a stiff shaft? or just not take part in the deal at all. I swing pretty fast, but my balls tend to hang right.

I'm wondering the same thing. Looking online, and not knowing how fast I swing... at all... I think I'll wait for another set on here. I'm sure another golf set will be up soon. Hopefully within the next week or two.

You dudes need to be careful about launching all these new sites. At this rate, you'll be adding tablets.woot and vacuums.woot by the end of the year, and THEN what will you have left to sell on the regular page?

Off the shelf sizing - if you're over 6', you need to purchase longer clubs. But you already knew that . . .

Regardless of shipping method, you will get a tracking email once your order ships. You can check your order status on the Stuff You Bought page. Click on the order number to view tracking information for that order. This generally happens a few days after an item is for sale.

I expedited my order and they came yesterday. Unfortunately the #4 hybrid headsock didn't contain a #4 hybrid. It actually had a #3 hybrid leaving me with 2 #3 clubs. I emailed Woot but have not heard back yet.
Be sure to check your club numbers when they come!

Edit Just got an email stating they are working with their vendor to get the correct club shipped out and will send me a tracking number.

Did your tracking info show up for your order, or did you search FedEx by reference using your order number?

My account still doesn't show a tracking number, but using my order # as a reference I see a SmartPost "expected ship date" of 6/14. Hopefully this is my order and it's picked up today.
