Mine right now:

"I need a lover who won't drive me crazy"

This year, I first encountered Christmas music in a store ... on the day after Halloween. If I really had believed in the concept of a "jury of one's peers" there might very well have been a justifyable homicide on that day.

what, Me, sig?

LOL!!! I totally agree.
Christmas music should NEVER be played till after Thanksgiving.

Wink

I like 'em all. So long as there's a strictly instrumental version.

"have yourself an ess-tee-eff-ewe Christmas..."

If you're gonna get stuck with a ballad, you might seek out Alice's Restaurant
I think it's a lot more fun.

I find sometimes I can voluntarily replace a stuck song, it's much easier than trying to just evict one.

I know what you mean.
Although ... if it was a Jose Feliciano rendition, I could cope.
Though maybe not sleep ... all that energy ...

speaking of "someone shoot me now" . . .

We’re so sorry uncle albert
But we haven’t done a bloody thing all day
We’re so sorry uncle albert
But the kettle’s on the boil and we’re so easily called away

Duke's of hazard theme song from the TV commercial where the guy is singing to his ring tone. Been in my head for days.

Either that or "na na na na na Where the hood at" commercial.

Both are Very ammusing to me. If you have seen them, you would understand.

oh, you mean the one hummed to the tune of ", , , , , chameleon"?

 ByCavy02 wrote:

UNfortunately.

karma chameleon is a now-classic example of what an ex- and I termed
"fungus music" ... "because 'it grows on ya'" ... whether you even like it or not.

And here's the prototype which inspired the term. One day (yes, back while that was current) we were both humming along to it; despite the fact neither of us even liked it.

Whoops - is that second link working for anyone else?
supposed to be http://www.lyricsdomain.com/16/paul_mccartney/coming_up.html
but it looks like the text-substitution code at woot is broken in some way that I've triggered. Maybe you can't do two; or even one, after an underlined block.

what, Me, sig?

obob, did you break Woot again?

I have "Beach Baby" playing in my head right now.....

Do yourself a big favor - find the original version, by Lori Lieberman.

I don't mean that the Roberta Flack cover version isn't great. It is. But it still doesn't measure up.

Yes. I even have a Teddy Bear's Picnic 78 that's not vinyl. Not sure what it is.

before vinyl, there were a lot of different things records were made of, but many, perhaps most of them were various types of wax.

Aha!

found a lyric sheet for that dreck.
Reading through it may help clear this scourge out of my consciousness, at least for a while

And here's a site for making fun of those very lyrics. And, no doubt, plenty of others.
