My mom, too. Chicken leg in one hand, salt shaker in the other. 84.

Edit: I'm betting, because she smoked all her life, her taste buds were bad.

Grandad was a minister so no smoking, but he did salt out of habit. I think going through the depression and all that followed he was in the salt it well habit.

My mother in law put a little pile of salt on each kids plate, so they could dip their food.

My house was salt free, because of my fathers open heart surgery, So it was quite a change for me to eat there.

By then, we were more low salt than salt free.

Hi Lynn

Kids home, still hurts to breathe. The optimists were saying the winds will change at 6pm, now they are saying 10am tomorrow. Kids want to go to the fair, I don't think I could walk that far without Oxygen.

So in other words I'm here until I find something else to do or the winds blow the smoke away.

hey, I don't know about MSG. something in there seems to give me headaches whenever i have it. MSG is really deceptively labeled. hard to tell what has it in there.

Mrs. Ice and I are going to a R.V. show in Dallas tomrrow.
Do we want one?.. maybe someday, heavy on the maybe part.
Do we have the means to haul one?..nope
Can we afford one?..absolutely not!
It should be a good way to kill a rainy Saturday.

Hello all, or goodnight as the case may be. Just up from a nap after taking dad to the VA audiologist. It was operator error (mine) as to why I couldn't get his FM system working. Hopefully, I can get it right from now on and will not have to speak so loudly for dad to hear me. Yaaah if it works!!! Other than that all quiet on the Eastern front. Shot dad and put him to bed. He remembered his meds without being reminded. Dementia of any type is lousy!

Thanks! It has actually gotten easier as his memory has gotten worse. He does not realize how bad he is so he is not as angry/depressed as before when it first started.

I'm glad you've learned how to do it. All that stuff gets so particular.

Went shopping in the next town over because a friend posted that kids pajamas were on sale... they weren't, they were marked up to be marked down and the result was the price they usually are.
Smoke was mostly cleared when we walked out. It was nice to breathe and I hadn't realized that my chest wasn't hurting anymore. We were going to go by the fair (I heard I got best in class - would love to see that), but the smoke, while better, is still bad here. Decided we'll see if more blows out and go in the morning.

(edited to add: chest is hurting again now, started hurting about 10 mins after getting home, lovely)

Last of the Ring Cycle starts in 4 minutes the kids are mad they've missed so much because it's on so late at night (some of the movements didn't end until after midnight and since these are also broadcast in Mountain time, that's after 1 there!)

New homeowner hired a company to clear cut the lot.

NOISY and they started too early.

There were too many trees and big bushes, 60 years of growth.
But clear cut???

I know my next door neighbor will be thrilled. He hates all trees.
Not sure about the guys on the other side.
One tree was hitting their roof and they never even bothered to trim it back.
You can trim to the property line.

Now they have no shade in their yard or on their deck. I think if they hated trees, they would have trimmed back what was over the property line.

Plus now there is a clear view of two yards and swimming pools from daughters room.

Good morning everybody.

Don't understand clear cutting. I like trees. Well, I like most trees. I don't like messy trees. Husband once planted a sweet gum without my knowledge. Fortunately we got some straight line winds one year and that was the end of that. Then about 20 years ago a neighbor threw a bunch of walnuts out in his yard. The next spring, little walnut trees. Husband was delighted. Planted one. Damn thing has to be 100 feet tall (that part's okay), but a huge number of walnuts that husband has to pick up constantly in order to mow.

Another gorgeous day, although a tad cool. Not ready for fall just yet. I think I'll make wraps for lunch and have them on the deck.

Ok, I'll take the baby and you can wake up the toddler.
2 months is still young enough that if you can hold them right, they don't care if they know you....aren't they?

Oh, you have to show me how to make a bottle. I didn't have them.

Their kids never eat as much as they say they will. Gotta say it's hard to take this kid seriously when he snorts while crying.

Bottles are easy. 3 scoops and shake.

Took me 3 times to get the swaddle thing right bug he's bandaged up tightly now and sleeping.
