If I usually wear a men's medium woot shirt, (I could fit in a small, but the sleeves and length are too short) think I could squeeze into the men's small for these?

I'm looking at making the volunteer firefighting jump, but I'm guessing the shirt itself would likely melt in a box fire and I don't see any use for these on an ambulance.

Otherwise, the shoulder or 4 pad look like they would have been great. Maybe someday they will throw the pads on cotton.

What three sizes? Looks like there are none available. Please let me know if I can obtain a couple of these 4-padders!

It doesn'tm protect the butt crack it protects the tail bone which is extremely painful for a very long time if you fall on it and bruise it

sdc100 wrote:These are so inexpensive and bizarre that I'll definitely give them a try. Even if they don't fit or look ugly, I'm sure that I can find some use for the pads after cutting them out. Should make some interesting shoe pads.

My question is why the briefs don't protect the most vulnerable part of the male anatomy: the front? Yet it sees fit to protect the b*tt crack.

In for 2 for snowboarding and intramural hockey. You know I'll be on my ass a lot. The video sold me actually; looks durable.

Could really use this for my upcoming rugby season, but it keeps denying my orders. Not sure why.

well glad I didn't get a small- I found a place with some reviews (and a higher price than here) and 3 out of the 5 mention that the only downside is they run a bit small.

Ordered a medium

Cause you don't want something padding your junk turning rock hard on impact... ouch. They expect people to get a cup.

The buttcrack support is for the tailbone

Just picked up two pairs of the girdle. I'm hoping they work well for roller derby. Maybe even snowboarding. Perhaps full contact badminton. Ok, the last one I have yet to play, but I can dream can't I?

Ahh - a non-Newtonian liquid!

Save some (not a lot, admittedly) money and use corn starch in water!

This type of impact protection padding is the latest (expensive) option to hit motorcycle protective gear. It offers a ton of protection without the rigidity. I was actually shopping for hip/tailbone protection for riding, but couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger for a $60 pair of padded underwear. In for one!

Is this kind of protection really necessary while cleaning around the house? :P

Is the small size really 32"-35"?

Usually smalls run about 36", does anyone know how well these fit?

They are 9 and 11 and play tackle football. Any extra protection to avoid injuries is awesome - even more awesome when you find a sweet deal like this! So, thanks, for helping keep my children a bit safer.

They will do more harm than good. The inclusion of paddings and so called protective gear makes people hit harder, thus causing more injuries. Look at the split of the common sport into football and rugby. One went into more and more 'protection', which resulted it into a harder and harder hitting game. Now research shows all those protection don't protect your brain from the impacts that those protective gear were suppose to protect you from.

what confuses me about this is whether or not it is actually too small or just that people aren't used to wearing tight fitting compression shirts.

any ideas? the size chart makes them seem rather small though.

I play hockey and i can tell you that people hit with the same intensity regardless of the level of padding you have. you would be a fool not to use this type of protection, i use it in addition to my gear and do not regret it.

The user's going to pick dancing pigs over security every time.

now i don't play contact sports, but it seems to me that that padding there would serve as a good hand hold for someone trying to grab you and pull you down.

You don't need to be around anyone who would be tactless enough to point it out if that were the case. Just putting it out there.

I'm just hanging out, really.

In for four. Want more. Similar gear is at the very least twice as expensive and at the most 10x as pricey.

We'll see how they hold up on some high school lacrosse players who need rib protection and compression shorts for cups.

You would wear a cup to protect the front. the back is to protect your tailbone and lower back in general.

Not really when you have a jersey or pants covering them. in football the players will even wear a jersey at least one size too small to make it even tighter and harder to grab.

got some girdles for skiing, where slides or tumbles frequently causes hard landings on hips. Not sure how far back the shoulder thing goes toward the back. Tumbles rarely hut the shoulder directly, but it does frequently impact the upper back area.

Received and disappointed. I recently returned a different brand of padded girdle for my 10 year old son - 27" waist. We ordered by the waist size, but the legs were too baggy for integrated thigh pads (my son has fairly good sized legs being a sprinter and defensive back). Thinking I learned from that mistake I ordered one waist size smaller. In this case a youth small, since:
Medium Waist: 26"-27"
Large Waist: 28"-29"
I figured a small was 24"-25".

I opened the package and was surprised to see that the youth small is about 14"-20" (UN-stretched to stretched).

Once again duped by the padded girdle industry!

I guess I can use these for smacking my hand with a hammer, as the video shows. Which will likely be the next time I think about buying any sort of garment from woot.

Sorry for the tracking delay. It can sometimes take a few days for packages to show as being in transit. Please allow a little more time for the scans to update. Let us know via email(service@woot.com) if there are no scans by Monday and we'll be happy to assist.

Received these in the mail yesterday and the waistsize is much, much smaller than a medium. It is like a xsmall waist put onto a medium size sport girdle. Not very pleased. Very uncomfortable so probably won't be worn!

quality posts: 19 Private Messages lwang

Got these, waist is super narrow, but stretchy enough to fit. Not sure how the concept of this work. I smashed a hammer and 2x4 over my hand and my hand still hurts. If this think stiffen up on impact, doesn't it pretty much transfer all the force to the other side? Its not like it is a giant piece of that gel where an impact on one point transfers the force to a much larger area on the other side.

Maybe the side on my skin's side will still stay soft and pliant while the outside hardens up?

Edit:
Just saw the e-mail about the delay and the free model upgrade on the 4 piece!

Thank you Woot!

My girdle came and it fits fine.

On the other hand my 4 piece still hasn't shipped. Any updates would be appreciated.

Thank you.

that was fun while it lasted!

Very disappointed with Woot! today. Just received my Zoombang Protective Rib Shirt - after ordering it on 8/1 - it was "upgraded" to a Zoombang Protective Girdle??? From a shirt that I ordered, I got the bottoms instead. Not happy with the wait. Would have been fine if it would have been the right product that I received. Seriously.

Ordered the girdle and 4 piece top, finally received the top today 20 days later, and I am sorely disappointed.

I also got the "upgrade" to the gray shirt, but the rib pads are much too large and stick out on the sides, and the shirt does not fit at all and is basically unusable.

Any way to shrink polyester shirts?

FYI - The specs lie. Every piece I purchased following the 'fitting chart' I could barely put over my head, arm or leg!
