would be all over this, but never heard of a CR2 battery, and not interested in looking to see if there's a rechargeable version available. if it was a more common CR123(?) (plenty of rechargeables around) I'd bite.

Any conditions law enforcement may need to use a gun, you may need to use a gun. When a crazed dude on bath salts is kicking in my door so he can eat my face at 3am, I don't get to kindly ask him to wait while I dial 911 and speak to the operator, and then continue to stand by while a police officer moseys on over to sort out this silly little disagreement. It's dark at 3am, and when I have a light, you can't see what's behind it. That gives me a significant advantage - if you're armed, you don't really know whether or not it's a flashlight or a gun, giving me precious seconds to react NARWHALS!

I hate to be a 'Negative Nancy', but I bought one of these last time around. The on/off switch was defective right out of the box. The only way I could get it to power off or on was to unscrew the battery enclosure. Not worth the hassle of returning. I hope those interested have better luck than I. Ultimately I got a much better light for about the same price at a show.

Ah yes, the utopia that used to be, before the invention of firearms. The world where the big and strong ruled unopposed. Where might made right. I so long for the "Good 'ol Days" when my wife would have been [filtered] and murdered by the 260lb convict, rather than persuading him to soil himself as he retreated, dropping his knife in the process. Too bad she had to "cheat". I'm sure that she would have felt much better about herself standing on the high moral ground of being a pacifist.

Yes, this happened. Yes, when they caught the guy, it turned out he'd been released from Prison the day before for kidnapping, [filtered], torture and murder of at least 3 women (that they could prove).

I picked one of these up the last time woot had them, and have been quite happy with it, especially for the price. It was a bit of a tight fit on my pistol's rail, but the ambidextrous switches are perfectly placed for actuation by the index finger of your weak-side hand if you're using a traditional two-hand grip. The light itself is nice and bright with a distinct 'hot spot' in the center of the beam (whether this is intentional or not, I'm not sure, but I like it).

This.

No problem, I did it for you! You can find a 2 pack of rechargable CR2 batteries with [re]charger for about $10 if that makes any difference, I will probably get one for my brother and I. Advanced Christmas presents always make that time more enjoyable... thank you Woot!

No matter how adamant we are about America's 2nd amendment (one way or another), let's always be thankful that we still have enough freedom to discuss it, argue about it, and even voice our disagreements about our government's policies.

Personally, I like the price point on this light, well done WOOT. However, I do not appreciate your typical, and usually appreciated, smarmy write-up about your imaginary use of gun presentation. The grossly uninformed and the actual hoplophobes will certainly believe that responsible gun owners act this way. I also happen to think "zombie" marketing of firearms and accesories sinks to very low levels and results in the same nagative thinking as WOOT's write-up.

It turns out the best way to get sport.woot into a political discussion is to post a weapons attachment on here. I don't know that I ever have purchased a fire arm with the primary intention of it being for home defense. I do know that I thoroughly enjoy shooting sports, and if you want to keep shooting in low light, a flashlight like this would make it much easier.

I saw this a few months ago on a Woot off and I missed it, and I picked up a different, albeit lower quality weapons flashlight between now and then. Woot, you've managed to fake me out. I hope it's the last time.

perked up, thinking it would work on my 22, until I saw it was for pistols. Will have to keep holding the jack-light for the varmints who are causing trouble at night.

More are killed by drunk drivers each year than being shot. Stop selling wine.

Even more have people stalk them by using a computer, so stop selling computers.

I can't imagine the loss of a loved one to a gun shot, but I'd guess there are more responsible gun owners than not

I bet you would not be sad if an educated, trained, and armed citizen is there to stand in your defense in your time of need. Don't be so quick to judge. without armed law-abiding citizens out there, only those that wish to do you harm, would have guns.

According to Gallup, 47% of adults in the US are legal gun owners. The VAST majority of gun crimes are not committed by legal gun owners. This idea that banning guns will end or reduce gun crimes is silly, short-sighted, and unrealistic. Criminals will be criminals if they want to be. If they want guns, they'll get em.
Same with these "gun free school zones". To a bad guy, this is "kid hunting range with no one to shoot back".

Susan, you don't have to imagine a world without guns... just look at history. Read as far back as you wish. With guns people are citizens, without guns they are subjects. When guns are banned from communities, violent crime goes through the roof. In communities where every household is required to have a gun and training, there is little to no crime.

Only thing turning me off from this light is that it doesn't use CR123 batteries. All my other weapon lights do, so I think I will stick with that for now.

Other than that, not a bad deal.

I'm going to mount two of these to my battle-E-Tool, each one pointing in a different direction. Before use, I will paint my face red. One light will be pointed at me. When i fire up those suckers and holler my battle scream I will either cause panic in the intruder, or, serious laughter.

For those of you offended by the use of tactical shovels, lights, face paint, or the mere mention of the mythical Battle Mug, or, if you live in a state where filling a Battle Mug with Soda is illegal, or soon to be, or possessing a tactical shovel may in fact be illegal, i am sorry. Having been in gun discussions where someone ALWAYS posts that they lost a loved one to gun violence, I'm going to have to see a verified news story before I believe it.
Esp since the item for sale is a flashlight, but some people are just afraid of anything I suppose.

I ordered one. Kind of concerned over the battery, (not familar with the type) but it's probably a minor matter.

I use a 90 lumen Safariland light right now and this is roughly half the size and a lot heavier. (also paid three times as much)

Honestly I have carried mine for my H&K (different model) at work when outside without the gun just because it fits perfectly in the palm of my hand and is extremely bright, and light weight. Although you can probably find a cheaper option if you don't ever NEED to mount it on anything

Sits waaay to close to the trigger guard on my 23c (same format). Fit MUCH better on larger railed Glocks, Taurus, S&W and others....Still, pretty good light for the money.

Do you have the compact 24/7 or the standard? This works fine for all full size and SOME compacts. Doesn't work well with the sub Glocks (19, 23, etc) and it worked well with my 24/7's fullsize but it extends 3/8"-ish past the muzzle on my 24/7 compact. It works but that's not good for the light (muzzle blast passes over the top).

We all (five boys) had rifles when we reached 9 years old, and my brother in the 1960's brought his pistol to school to replace the handholds on the side in industrial arts. The principal congratulated him on the professional job he did with the pistol.

Life changed in the early 70's, when I came back from Vietnam and was spit on. The drug culture which grew from our naive hippie culture, changed mores. Unlike us "farm boys" who went for squirrels and targets, young people in the cities used their guns to kill or cow people. My first cousin was shot in Chicago in a random shooting, a cousin who already had three electronics patents in his 20's, and the Iowa farm which had been in our family since 1847 was sold, and the new owner rented our farm house to two men who set up a meth factory, and a guy was shot to death in my old bedroom, in a county which had not had a murder in 50 years, and now averages at least 3 murders a year due to meth.
