phaha that's what I get for not reading everything, can I blame it on the new site layout? I'm going to anyways. Thanks oggusfoo and Jason Toon.

Wait. These are Irons. I can't make a joke about Sport.Woot sporting wood if you're sporting irons.

That's not sporting, Woot.

Yay! Congrats Woot! Hope it works out well. And the good thing is this gives you even more options to mis-categorize the items on sale for the day...;)

Can someone tell me what "iron configuation" means. Want to pick up 2 sets but unsure as to what the meaning is. And does anyone have any suggestion as far what is a better "shaft type" for two new hackers. At least I got the Left/Right thing fiqured out.

The "Shaft Type" option: in all of the sets, the hybrids come with graphite shafts. The steel vs. graphite option only applies to the remaining irons. Graphite typically benefits players with slower swing speeds. You may be a beginner but swing really hard, so steel might be better for the irons. As for the "Lite, Regular, Stiff" options, Regular is likely the best way to start out. Lite helps seniors and those with slower swing speeds, and Stiff is used by those with really high swing speeds.

As for the configuration, I'd recommend the 3-5 hybrid/6-PW iron configuration. The hybrids are typically easier to hit, so having a 5-hybrid would likely help. And as for doing either 3-PW or 4-SW: single hybrids cost a lot more than single wedges, so you'd be better get the 3-PW and adding a SW later on.

The key difference between a men's and women's set is the shaft type (all jokes aside). Women typically have a slower swing speed and benefit from graphite shafts and, possibly, the "Lite" flex. The "Regular" flex may work, too, if the lady has a slighty faster swing speed.

Sport Woot, what a great idea for a new site!

Adams golf makes excellent products, and are especially known for their hybrids. This set is more for the beginner and/or high handicapper, as they are built for distance and forgiveness, not workability and control. This is a very good price for the set.

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

Thanks for listening woot!

Interesting debut for Sport Woot. Of the Adams iron sets, the Redline probably competes most closely with the the TaylorMade Rocketbalz rescue/iron set, which is more expensive than the Adams set. Since TaylorMade (Adidas) just bought out Adams, I'll bet they just want to dump the Redline products. Good deal for me. In for one.

Will these clubs work for a woman who is5'4 and just starting out?

First, just want to say this addition is a great idea. As if I haven't spent enough on the home and wine sites.

A question for the Woot overlords. I noticed that the clubs come in specified lengths. Obviously, most clubs, when purchased, are fitted to a player's size and swing. While I would not expect woot to offer club fittings with a purchase, any thought that in the future a range of lengths could be offered? Just curious. Thanks!

There is a Left-Handed Option, you're limited to steel-stiff shafts and the 3-4H, 5-PW configuration.

If he swings hard.. you want a stiffer shaft for more control.. definately steel also. If he is over 55.. the graphite flex might get him some more distance. If you look at his clubs he has now... just pull one out and look at the little band on the shaft.. chances are it will say on it somewhere.. your best bet

Correct. The number of head covers is dependent on the number of hybrids. All hybrids will include a cover.
